Q25:What is Radio Frequency Filters? What does It do?

2021-01-05

RF is short for radio frequency. RF is any frequency within the electromagnetic spectrum associated with radio wave propagation. When an RF current is supplied to an antenna, an electromagnetic field is created that then is able to propagate through space. Radio Frequency spectrum ranging is from 9 kHz to 300 GHz. The RF field can be used for various types of wireless broadcasting, communications, television, 5G applications and etc.

Radio frequency filters are a kind of electronic component which is usually utilized to allow particular signals or frequencies (in radio frequency spectrum) to pass and at the same time eliminate unwanted signals and noises (interference). In other words, an RF filter is designed to attenuate or transmit certain signals and frequencies. Radio frequency filters help to cut out RF interference or noisy signals that could occur to your devices, equipment, instruments, or systems.

Here are 4 basic types of Radio Frequency Filters we can support:

(a). RF Band Pass Filters: Only allow signals through one continuous band section between two frequency points and reject all others outside the band.
RF Band Pass Filters Processing

(b). RF Band Stop (or Band Reject, Notch) Filters: Stop all signals through one continuous band section between two frequency points, but allow all others outside the band.
RF Band Stop Filters Processing

(c). RF Low Pass Filters: Allow signals bellow a given frequency point to pass while rejecting signals above the given frequency point.
RF Low Pass Filters Processing

(d). RF High Pass Filters: Allow signals above a given frequency point to pass while rejecting signals below the given frequency point.RF High Pass Filters Processing

According to the 4 types of Radio-frequency filters above, we offer various packages: Connector ports, Drop-in, Through-hole, Needle, and Surface Mount Technology, which is easy for you to install and operate on indoor and outdoor boards and devices.
